Jon Abbate is a former American football player who played as a linebacker. He was born on October 27, 1985, in Atlanta, Georgia. Abbate played college football at Wake Forest University, where he was a standout player and team captain. He was named First Team All-ACC and Second Team All-American during his senior year in 2006.
After college, Abbate entered the NFL Draft in 2007 and was selected by the Houston Texans in the seventh round. However, he was later released by the team and did not play in the NFL. Abbate later pursued a career in coaching and currently works as a strength and conditioning coach at Baylor University.
